Senior Ecommerce Business Manager

About the Position

We are seeking a talented individual with ecommerce experience and a proven track record of leading and managing growth, preferably with a consumer products brand. The Senior Ecommerce Business Manager is a newly created position, responsible for leading a 6-year-old growing direct-to-consumer business. They are responsible for all business strategy including sales forecasting, budgeting and customer analysis and segmentation. The Senior Ecommerce Business Manager also directs offline efforts including direct mail, a pop-up shop and partnering with our wholesale distribution of 1,500 specialty stores. One of the top responsibilities for this person in 2017 is to develop and execute an advanced customer strategy to include buyer personas, scoring models and behavior analysis. The Senior Ecommerce Business Manager will also manage the Marketing Operations Coordinator, who will serve in a support role to assist with customer outreach, analysis and strategy execution.

What You'll be Doing

Sales Planning and Budgeting

  • Develop, forecast and manage annual sales plan based on traffic and customer goals
  • With Executive and Finance team, develop and manage retail budget
  • Disseminate sales reports to the company on an ongoing basis
  • Establish a bi-monthly look at retail expense lines
  • Conduct a quarterly expense review with the retail team

Team Management

  • Supervise and manage Digital Analyst to include yearly review, job audit, compensation review and educational development
  • Assist in the supervision and management of customer service team
  • Conduct weekly sales team meetings

Business Strategy

  • With Marketing Operations Coordinator, manage and develop the customer strategy to include:
    • Customer acquisition
    • Targeted marketing initiatives
    • Buyer behavior segmentation
    • Buyer persona development
    • Conversion tactics
    • Retention strategy
    • Automation and email workflows
    • Website content strategy
    • Customer database maintenance
  • Manage third party relationships, including Q Customer CRM

Sales Channel Development

  • Assist on the website steering group for www.scoutbags.com
  • Understand and review website traffic on a weekly basis to inform projections
  • At the direction of the VP of Sales and Marketing, develop and manage the SCOUT’s first pop-up shop in the new DC showroom
  • Research and cultivate new sales channels
  • Research and develop product enhancements to include personalization, packaging, etc.

What We’d Like to See in You

  • Bachelor’s Degree, 6+ years related experience in a related sales role and 4+ years of management experience to include people and financial management
  • Leadership skills demonstrated in and outside the office
  • Ability and willingness to work both independently and as a team
  • Strong organizational abilities, including time and content management

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Marketing Operations Coordinator

About the Position

We have an immediate opening for a newly created position on our marketing operations team for a detail-oriented, creative thinker. At the direction of the Marketing Operations Manager, the Coordinator is responsible for many of our daily marketing logistics company-wide including executing over 6 million email sends annually. The Marketing Operations Coordinator will be the eyes and ears on our direct-to-consumer front via customer outreach activities. The Coordinator’s in-depth knowledge of our consumer will allow them to be our primary brand copywriter. We will use the content they create in all of our marketing channels and consumer-facing material.

What You'll be Doing

Web/Digital

  • Build, test, and launch email programs and one-offs using our email marketing software (Bronto)
  • Archive completed marketing campaigns
  • Manage the relationship with Wyng, our social marketing campaign platform
    • Update the UGC gallery daily
    • Under the direction of our Social Media Manager, conduct internal and external campaigns to gather user-generated content

Copywriting

  • Adhere to our existing brand voice and continue to develop it
  • Provide clear and persuasive copy for all external writing (emails, digital marketing ads, press releases, etc.)
  • Revise, edit, and proofread content as needed

Customer Outreach

  • Conduct weekly outreach to customers
    • Directly interact with customers in response to their experience with the brand
    • Contact high value customers through email and direct mail
  • Review all new orders placed and respond promptly to customer inquiries
  • Understand consumer needs by organizing monthly focus groups, digitally surveying customers and personally reaching out to customers

Customer Service

  • Primary contact for remote retail customer service team including:
    • Handling consumer issues as needed
    • Training the Customer Service team on collection rollouts, upsell strategies and promotion calendar
  • Develop and execute phone, email and live chat monitoring system
  • Manage relationship with live chat partner Olark
  • Create and monitor consumer discount coupons

Digital Analyst

About the Position

We are seeking a talented individual to fill the newly created role of Digital Analyst. At the direction of the Senior Ecommerce Business Manager, the Analyst will be responsible for transforming SCOUT’s data into actionable insights. With a combination of customer purchase history, digital marketing analytics and website analytics, the Analyst will be considered the most well-informed ecommerce team member. Daily, you’ll create segments to leverage what we know about our customers and target them more effectively. You will also be responsible for the data management on the back end of our website.

What You'll be Doing

Digital Analysis

  • At direction of Senior Ecommerce Business Manager, develop and maintain a cohesive approach to our customer strategy using a combination of Tableau, Lumiary, Google Analytics, focus groups, buyer personas, RFM metrics and behavioral analysis
  • Identify ongoing metrics to examine consumer behavior and segment accordingly (email, direct mail, ads, etc)
    • Establish effective measurements for our retention strategy
    • Guide how this strategy impacts our current website and in-progress sit redesign
  • Utilize Q Customer (CRM) to analyze unified data and maintain a framework for implementation
  • With Senior Ecommerce Business Manager, provide consumer customer goals and metrics to be combined with traffic goals for the B2C forecast
    • Consistently measure and report key takeaways, recommendations and action steps to team
  • Analyze email performance sent through ESP Bronto
  • At the direction of the Ecommerce team, perform regular traffic analysis

Website and Platform Management

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Magento platform and how all pieces of data and key integrations interact with one another
  • At the direction of Senior Ecommerce Business Manager, execute strategy for A/B testing and optimization of website using Optimizely
