Ecommerce Business Manager

About the Position

We are seeking a talented individual with eCommerce experience and a proven track record of leading and managing growth, preferably with a consumer products brand. The Ecommerce Business Manager is a newly created position, responsible for leading a growing direct-to-consumer business beginning its seventh year. Business strategy reponsibilites include sales forecasting, budgeting and customer analysis & segmentation, as well as directing offline efforts including direct mail and a local pop-up shop. The Ecommerce Business Manager will also partner with our wholesale division which has a distribution of 1,500 specialty stores. One of the top responsibilities for this person in 2017 is to develop and execute an advanced customer strategy to include buyer personas, scoring models and behavior analysis. The Ecommerce Business Manager will also manage the Consumer Strategy Coordinator, who will serve in a support role to assist with customer outreach, analysis and strategy execution.

What You'll be Doing

Sales Planning and Budgeting

  • Develop, forecast and manage annual sales plan based on traffic and customer goals
  • With Executive and Finance team, develop and manage retail budget
  • Disseminate sales reports to the company on an ongoing basis
  • Establish a bi-monthly look at retail expense lines
  • Conduct a quarterly expense review with the retail team

Team Management

  • Supervise and manage Customer Strategy Coordinator to include yearly review, job audit, compensation review and educational development
  • Assist in the supervision and management of customer service team
  • Conduct weekly sales team meetings

Business Strategy

  • Create a yearly initiatives plan for the retail sales channel under the company umbrella to include expansion of existing distribution and cultivation of new distribution
  • Direct and develop yearly promotional and sales strategies
  • With Customer Strategy Coordinator, manage and develop the customer strategy to include customer acquisition, targeted marketing initiatives, buyer behavior segmentation, buyer persona development, conversion tactics, retention strategy, email workflows, and customer database maintenance
  • Manage third party relationship with Lumiary and others

Sales Channel Development

  • Assist on the website steering group for www.scoutbags.com
  • Understand and review website traffic on a weekly basis to inform projections
  • At the direction of the VP of Sales & Marketing, develop and manage the SCOUT’s first pop-up shop in the new DC showroom
  • Research and cultivate new sales channels
  • Research and develop product enhancements to include personalization, packaging, etc.

What We’d Like to See in You

  • Bachelor’s Degree, 3+ years related experience in a related sales role and 2+ years of management experience to include people and financial management
  • Leadership skills demonstrated in and outside the office
  • Ability and willingness to work both independently and as a team
  • Strong organizational abilities, including time and content management
  • An attention to detail, an eagerness to learn and a way with people
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Consumer Strategy Coordinator

About the Position

While working for the Ecommerce Business Manager, the Consumer Strategy Coordinator will play a key role in the growth of the B2C online sales channel by gaining a strong understanding of the SCOUT customer and using that data to inform and create effective marketing. This position will involve coordinating and executing advanced customer analysis and segmentation, new customer acquisition strategy, marketing and online advertising and enhancements to our website. The Consumer Strategy Coordinator will also work with our wholesale division and our product development Team.

What You'll be Doing

Customer Analysis and Segmentation

  • At direction of Ecommerce Business Manager, develop and maintain a cohesive approach to understanding the customer and how they shop using Tableau, CRM, Google Analytics, focus groups, buyer personas, RFM metrics and behavioral analysis
  • Identify the best metrics to examine consumer behavior on an ongoing basis and segment accordingly
  • Establish effective ways to measure customer loyalty, lead acquisition, etc.
  • Assist in determining how the customer strategy translates online
  • Use CRM to analyze unified data and maintain a framework for implementation
  • With Ecommerce Business Manager, provide customer goals and metrics to be combined with traffic goals for the B2C forecast
  • Measure on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis and report key takeaways and recommendations

Marketing and Online Advertising

  • With B2C team, develop a monthly, quarterly and yearly marketing and promotional plan specifically related to the customer. This plan will inform email, direct mail, packaging, advertising, customer events and social media.
  • As part of the marketing team, create and execute campaign strategies
  • Assist with collection launches for both B2C and B2B

Customer Outreach

  • Conduct weekly customer outreach via email and phone
  • Review all new orders and promptly respond to customer inquiries
  • Seek to better understand customer needs by organizing monthly focus groups and online surveys

Customer Service

  • Act as the primary contact for remote customer service team
  • Develop and execute phone, email and live chat monitoring system
  • Ensure creative and exceptional customer service
  • Train customer service team on new collections and product
  • Manage relationship with live chat partner Olark
