As part of our brand commitment to giving back, SCOUT is thrilled to announce our ongoing partnership with GO BO, a local non-profit supporting children + families facing pediatric medical crises at Georgetown University Hospital. GO BO was established 15+ years ago by SCOUT co-founders, Deb and Ben Johns, following their son Bo’s childhood cancer battle.
Bo's Story
I was 11 when I had my tonsils out at Georgetown University Hospital. It was on Halloween. Little did I know that they’d discover cancer on my tonsil, that I’d spend 90 days in the hospital (including my 12th birthday), endure six rounds of chemo, and ultimately come out the other side a cancer survivor.
My family was lucky. My parents had the means, the support, and the resources to navigate those difficult times. Many families do not—which is what GO BO is all about. Our mission is to help lessen the burdens on families in similar situations: from helping with living expenses to special summer camps to critical medical devices and more.

My whole life—and I’m about to turn 30—my parents taught me and my siblings the importance of giving back, and that negative experiences can have positive outcomes. GO BO is the perfect case in point.

GO BO Impact
