In honor of Women's History Month, we're celebrating females who have changed the game with their influence on fashion. I met Donna Karan while working at Vogue as she began to embark on her one woman quest to redesign the look of the modern female. Her structured yet soft, sculpted looks in knits and wovens in assorted monochromatic arrays offered modern women a chic, comfortable and distinctive way to dress for her increasingly fast paced life. Donna practically invented the bodysuit and made jersey dressing a way of life. Take a look at how her silhouettes continue to impact power dressing today. (and stay tuned as we highlight women who inspire all month long in honor of Women's History Month!)
Donna Karan is a one-woman powerhouse who has made New York uptown dressing her signature. Her aim when she started out in 1985 was to dress women in comfort, to liberate them from the confines of Eighties power suits.
