An insider perspective of the city that never sleeps: New York, New York.
When Deb isn’t running around DC working as a fashion stylist or SCOUT's Creative Director, she travels to get inspired for upcoming seasons! For years, before settling into Georgetown, Deb was a Manhattanite (her third child recently took residence in her beloved city!). Below, Deb outlines how to see the city in style:
The Ace Hotel is a place you want to call home when visiting, conveniently located just south of Midtown.
What’s trending: hot spots eateries inside hotels. Who would have thought?! Do yourself a favor and don't write off the gem that could be hiding in your hotel!
Lafayette is the perfect place to grab breakfast! It’s a spacious, low-key restaurant reminiscent of La Coupole in Paris.
Fuku: All they serve is fried chicken sandwiches and chicken fingers. Seriously. Part of the David Chang conglomerate, this place is hot… and rightfully so. Try the daikon radish sauce - Deb told ya so!
One of the most phenomenal Caesar salads you'll find, found at the Ace. Thank us later.
Located in the Ludlow Hotel, Dirty French’s signature chicken dish is not to be missed. Served with crepes, half the chicken comes served in an impeccable mustard sauce, while the other half is barbecued.
The Eventi Hotel is home to unexpected, spunky décor inside restaurants L’Amico and The Vine.
Drool worthy: the short ribs at Narcissa in the Standard Hotel..
Spanning two blocks in the heart of New York, the iconic New York Public Library is an impressive, massive oasis worth a visit. Not to mention, the site of Carrie's (almost) wedding! Fun fact: Deb threw a party for 500 people here to benefit the Boys Club of New York!
Madison Square Park is another hidden gem – the ultimate city retreat. NYC is now littered with little square block parks, truly an amazing transformation to observe.
Design you own streetwear at Lululemon’s “The Hub”. The concept is to “invent things that don’t yet exist,” which results in exclusive designs.
Always a fun place to pop in, ABC Home offers an amazing selection of tableware. Hint: don’t forget to check out the particularly neat basement.
Deb is a longtime collector of designer Fornasetti, found on the home decor floor at Barneys.
