Yo Deb readers, this week rounds out our spotlight on European street fashion in the cities of Milan, Paris, and London. We hope you enjoy viewing these photos as much as Deb did capturing them!
ON MIXING PATTERNS:
Pattern mixing is not a license to wear really bad combinations of printed garments together… successful pattern mixing takes an editing eye and a great imagination. The best patterns to mix are connected to one another by color palette or have a similar “graphic” message – perhaps at different scales. The best looks are those that take one strong pattern direction and detail that pattern with a classic (think a leopard, a plaid, a stripe, or dot). Pattern mixing at its core is inspired by ‘ethnic’ dressing, however, to keep it contemporized, remember: less is more.
