Fresh Finds at the Farmer's Market: Corn

SUGGESTED PREP OF CORN:

The best way to eat summer corn is off the cob: first, slice kernels off of the cob and pour into a skillet that has a a little butter or olive oil to coat (we love the Mauviel M'Heritage copper skillets available at Sur la Table!); second, sautee for 5 minutes with a little salt & pepper. Add a fresh twist of flavor with a chiffonade of basil, chopped heirloom tomatoes, a little cumin, or some smoked paprika.

If you prefer creamed corn, puree a portion of the kernels in a blender with a little half and half or heavy cream, then add into the skillet.

SUGGESTED PREP OF YOUR LOOK: for this yellow color story, accent canary with some neutrals, as shown above, from left to right... Flora Bella's straw hat offers up natural hues with the creative touch of a decorative front; ASH's Virgin Ter Sneaker in a distressed sand hue will be comfortable, yet also will offer a taller style shoe to the shorter style of your overalls; for as basic as tees can get, no company exhibits better 'basic' qualities in its t-shirts than Splendid, and we love the Army Green Very Light Jersey Tank above; finally, as the statement maker at the Farmers' Market, wow crowds with a pair of short overalls from Costume National!
